Lanny Henderson
Although Lanny Henderson has been a life-long artist, for many years he worked in local industry while pursuing development as a stained glass artist. More recently, he has turned his creativity to artistic expressions on paper and canvas. This is reflected in this show of non-figurative paintings. He now works almost exclusively in acrylic dye with layers of oil pastel, encaustic and embossing powder. You will also find collages and gelatin monotypes.
Lanny’s creations are currently on sale in galleries in Holland and Saugatuck, Michigan and Cincinnati, Ohio. Recently he was the featured artist at Butch’s Dry Dock Restaurant and the Midnight Gallery in Holland. His artwork and stained glass works are displayed in many homes in the United States, France, and Scotland.
Lanny has a BS in Industrial Technology and worked as a process designer in the auto industry for many years while learn-ing about and working in stained glass. His recent retirement allowed time to pursue his fascination with abstract art.
“One of the most exciting things for me is to create a work of art. Sometimes I begin with just decisions about color and as a theme emerges, I will reinforce and enhance it to completion. The end results that I see is not always what others see and I encourage viewers to provide their own interpretations.”
