Ellen King
Born in Pensacoloa, Florida in 1970, Ellen King moved to Macon, Georgia while she was very young. Her artistic talent began to reveal itself in the form of drawing at an early age. She studied art and psychology at Wesleyan College in Macon, and later at Oglethorpe University in Atlanta. From there her interest increased in computer art forms which led her to the Art Institute of Atlanta. Studying mostly computer animation, her need to express herself through paint and charcoal intensified. She began painting for the art market in 1997, and some of her work went to the Art Expo in New York in 1998.
Her work demonstrates unique design, using many different techniques to achieve this. Many textures and colors are used to match the varying moods of each piece, and the subject matter evolves from a constant flow of ideas. My style of painting is constantly changing; this is mostly from my desire to use different techniques to display a certain idea that I may have, as well as to appeal to many different tastes. In some of my works, I try to captivate the viewer's mind and keep them guessing as to how the pieces were created. I take interest in many different types of subject matter, so I tend to cover a lot of ground in that respect.
Ellen paints at her home studio where she constantly brings to life new ideas. She is currently attending Kennesaw State University, where she continues to study art.
